Frequently asked questions.

What can I expect during an Initial Evaluation?

During an Initial Evaluation, we will talk in-depth about your history, perform a movement assessment, physical examination, discuss findings and goals, and get started with treatment. An internal pelvic exam is always optional. You can expect to receive videos and descriptive notes of prescribed exercises to work on, as well as any necessary educational handouts based on your specific needs.

What can I expect during a follow-up session?

During a follow-up session, we will continue with our treatment plan including any indicated manual therapy, discussion of lifestyle changes, and progression of corrective exercises. My goal is to make you feel better leaving our time together than when you first came in!

Can my baby/toddler/child(ren) be with me?

I do want this time to be YOUR time and all about YOU, where we can take care of YOU. You deserve that. It can be hard to focus, and you are paying for this precious time. If you are able to be alone, that would be great! If not, we can be creative! However, newborns are always welcome because I understand firsthand how much they need you close. We can use the time to practice body mechanics while caring for baby using your feeding/changing station/sleeping set-ups in your home. I always enjoy a newborn cuddle as well while you exercise. :)

How many times will I have to see you?

It all depends! This will NOT be like a traditional outpatient clinic where you are seen 2-3x/week for several weeks. After the initial evaluation, we will come up with your goals together and I will give you plenty of exercises and techniques to practice for weeks at a time. More than likely we will meet for follow-up sessions only a handful of times spread out over weeks and months. My goal is to empower you with knowledge so that you can progress on your own and flourish! But of course, I’d love to see you as often as you’d like and be a resource to you throughout all of your stages of motherhood. :)
